Led by Professor Dumbledore, children of all ages dressed in the Hogwarts house colours and wielded wands as they celebrated the famous series.
The event started with a general knowledge quiz, for which the children were spilt into the four Hogwarts houses — Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin and Ravenclaw — before enjoying craft activities.
Children created Sorting Hat origami, made quills and colour ties, and door hangings in their preferred house colours.
Goulburn Valley Libraries children and youth services librarian Emma Kennedy said it was fantastic to see the series’ popularity continue, more than 20 years after the first book was published.
‘‘It continues to be popular every year with many of the same faces and new ones coming along,’’ she said.
Ms Kennedy said the activities were sent out by Harry Potter publishing company Bloomsbury every year with a specific theme.
‘‘This year was ‘Hogwarts’ and last year was ‘fantastic beasts’,’’ she said.
The library also had props on show, including potion ingredients, dragon eggs, goblets and an imitation flying car.
