Tomorrow night marks the return of The Winter Sessions — a series of live music gigs held at The Vault, 170 Maude St, Shepparton from 6pm onwards.
Boasting an array of home-grown acts and visiting talent, the sessions are designed to provide a hub for live music in Shepparton.
Headlining the first session on Friday night is the Jessica Lorraine Trio, which will be supported by Beth Caldow and brother-sister duo Man Down.
To be held on Friday and Saturday nights from 6pm, event co-ordinator Jamie Lea said each night would provide a unique musical journey.
While Friday evenings are regarded as more of a rowdy affair with an opportunity to cut loose, Saturday nights are traditionally more for music appreciators.
‘‘The Winter Sessions are at The Vault in a secret alleyway, and we have been doing them for a really long time,’’ Ms Lea said.
‘‘We style the vault hardcore, as in within an inch of its life.’’
Ms Lea said she began The Winter Sessions as a way to project her love for live music and also found it to be a way to put back into the community.
‘‘We are a village, and we are a community, and it is so important to me,’’ she said.
‘‘For people who have lived in Shepparton their whole life like me, I want to feel like I am in Brunswick or somewhere like there.’’
The Winter Sessions run from May 24 until September 21. Tickets are priced from $22, and available at the website www.thewintersessions. com/tickets
