Word and Mouth hosts trivia night for teens

By Tara Whitsed

Brush off your general knowledge skills because Word and Mouth is hosting a trivia night for teens this week.

The Greater Shepparton City Council youth organisation’s project manager Jim Gow said the event was created to provide the municipality’s younger people with more things to do.

‘‘There is just not enough happening for young people in this area,’’ he said.

‘‘This is our second event of the year, and we’re hoping to offer something a little bit different with this event.’’

In the past, Word and Mouth has hosted popular events such as NerdMania, Battle of the Bands and DeadzTown.

There will be limited seating for the trivia night, with only 10 tables of six available for the event, and groups are being encouraged to express their interest early.

‘‘With unusual topics like Lord of the Rings, Aussie towns, true or false questions, and Marvel, it is safe to say it is not the regular kind of trivia night,’’ Mr Gow said.

For more information, including sneak peeks at question examples, search for the event on Facebook.

All Word and Mouth events are drug, smoke and alcohol-free events and are generally aimed at 12 to 25-year-olds, but all are welcome.

To book a table, phone Jim on 0437771114 or Word and Mouth via Facebook.

The event will be on Friday from 7.30pm to about 10pm at the McIntosh Centre, Shepparton Showgrounds, Benalla Rd, Shepparton.
