Shepparton’s own Jeremy Garner took to the Dancing with the Stars stage for the first time last night with comedian partner Denise Scott.
Speaking to The News ahead of the first episode appearing on television screens, Mr Garner said he and Ms Scott would be getting ‘‘a little bit sexy’’ on stage.
‘‘Denise is going to be pulling her best female ‘Blue Steel’ looks,’’ he said.
The pair joined a star-studded line-up of celebrities with 11 couples battling it out on the dance floor.
‘‘Everyone’s feeling really pumped; all the celebrities had been really nervous over the past couple of days but we’re all getting better the more we run through things on set,’’ Mr Garner said.
He said the entire crew had become great friends, with some loud personalities among the cast.
‘‘Everyone somehow manages to co-exist with (celebrity chef) Miguel (Maestre) being the loudest of all — he’s like our mascot,’’ Mr Garner said.
The local has partnered with this season’s oldest competitor. And Ms Scott has said he was ‘‘divine’’.
‘‘It’s such a cliché. He’s really gentle; God knows if I was paired with one of the dancers that are really ambitious and pushing me a bit harder straight off, I’d be mortified,’’ she said.
In a promotional video on the Network Ten website, Ms Scott and Mr Garner said there was instant chemistry between the duo.
‘‘We’re going to show sides of Denise that we haven’t seen before,’’ Mr Garner said.
‘‘It’s a challenge, that’s for sure,’’ Ms Scott added.
‘‘I love a challenge,’’ Mr Garner said.
Ms Scott and Mr Garner are seemingly perfect for one another with their shared love of a post-rehearsal glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
