Carnival time for Shepparton East Primary School students

By Shepparton News

Students from all year levels at Shepparton East Primary School tested their athletic skills yesterday, taking part in the annual Athletics Carnival.

Students competed in a range of sports, including sprints, distance, egg and spoon races, long jump, high jump, vortex and shot put.

Physical education teacher Amanda Heard said the day aimed to help train the Year 3 to 6 students for the upcoming inter-school athletics carnival.

Each student competed for points for their house colour, with the blue house finishing victorious.

‘‘The aim is to be active and enjoy being outside and being physical,’’ Miss Heard said.

‘‘I’ve heard lots of good things about the day, some very excited students said they got their first ribbon on the day so it has been good to see the kids so happy.’’
