Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority chief executive Chris Norman presented students with their leadership badges for school captain, school vice-captain, house captain and junior school council.
‘‘We were thrilled to have Chris attend our assembly and deliver a very informative speech that was well received by all,’’ school principal Jenny Manuel said.
She said the leadership students were ready to take on their first projects for the year.
‘‘The school captains and vice-captains will assist with school photo day for their first leadership role, so assisting classes through that process and the house captains can start assisting at lunch times with sporting activities and packing up equipment,’’ Ms Manuel said.
‘‘Council students become a voice for students within their class and they do a lot of fundraising events throughout the year.’’
Ms Manuel said junior school council gave students from Years 3 to 6 an opportunity to gain experience in an alternative leadership role.
‘‘Becoming a part of junior school council could lead to becoming a school captain in the future,’’ she said.
