Our girls keep on rolling on

LOCAL gymnasts bounced their way into Melbourne earlier this month as they took part in the Australia Gymnastics Championships.

While neither Jamison McFadden or Latisha Painter came out on top — they did themselves proud against the best gymnasts Australia has to offer.

McFadden ranked 18th in the national level six tumbling trampoline event with a score of 53.9 — the fourth highest score from a Victorian.

Meanwhile, Painter finished third in the qualifying event for the senior international women’s event with a score of 20.2 — although she did not compete in the final.

Both have now become veterans of the national championships after competing on several occasions in the past.
