Money raised on the day will be donated to the recovery of Jackson Davie, who suffered a serious spinal injury in December 2018.
Jackson is the grandson of hard-working and loyal members of the club, Margaret and Jack Shearer.
Sixty bowlers participated in the day, with visitors from local clubs and first-time players joining Echuca members to play two games of triples, with a 100-up scoring system being used.
The results were:
1st: Toby Egan, Bob Bartlett and Sandra Harvey
2nd: Philip Thorn, Shirley Ritters and Harry Shearer
3rd: Trevor Rickard, Anna Meyer and Ross McKenzie
Prizes were also given out for resting touchers to Carol Matthews, John Kelly and Logan Mann.
Money was raised on the day through green fees, donations, a trading table, raffles and a barbecue lunch.
Club president Pat Schram thanked everyone for their generosity and for supporting such a worthy cause.
She was proud to announce that the club would be donating about $3300 to Jackson’s trust fund.
On behalf of the Davie and Shearer families, Marg and Jack Shearer also thanked everyone for their overwhelming support of the day, and stated how proud they were to members of the City of Echuca Bowls Club.
