The second incarnation of the event will see the inclusion of a number of new challenges.
Local footballers and netballers won’t just be showing off their speed — but their ball skills as well.
The competing football clubs will be a part of the Bennett’s Biggest Boot competition.
Players will test just how far they can roost a Sherrin, with $300 and a trophy on the line for the biggest bomb.
While distance is key for the footballers, it’s a question of accuracy for the netballers. The Edge FM Shoot Out will see netballers from competing clubs shooting for goal and for a trophy and $300 cash.
Also making its debut will be the Riverine Herald Inclusion Relay, a race that will see local competitors and businesses team up with the Echuca Moama Rockets for a race.
Event organiser Ben Hearn said the Apex club was excited to have the Rockets on board.
‘‘The Rockets are a club that plays a big part within our community,’’ Hearn said.
‘‘We are really excited for the Rockets to come and take part in the event. This event is focused on the entire sporting community, and the Rockets are one of the most popular clubs in the region, so we are really excited to add them to the event.’’
Hearn said the additions to the event were exciting for Apex.
‘‘We love what the gift offers, but we are really excited to add these events to the evening,’’ he said.
‘‘It opens up the night to getting more than just the runners involved in the event, it gets the whole club involved, and that’s what we want for the night.’’
