The collaboration will bring the first traceable 100 per cent Aussie-grown tomato produce and other bulk products to the food-service industry.
The announcement comes after research showed nine out of 10 Aussies are more likely to buy locally made products.
‘‘The launch event was an important celebration with our suppliers and partners, which included local clubs, pubs, cafe, restaurants and quick service restaurants,’’ Kagome Australia chief executive Jason Fritsch said.
‘‘It also highlights the success of one of Australia’s oldest and most-loved brands. Now people know when they are consuming Rosella tomato products it’s grown locally right here in Echuca.’’
As demand for local food surges, the Rosella and Kagome partnership ensures those stocking their tomatoes will be keeping the produce local to Echuca.
Both companies will remain separate, with Kagome supplying and manufacturing Rosella’s new food-service industry products – including 1kg or more packs of tomato paste, tomato puree, pizza sauces, tomato sauce and Napoli sauce.
