“From community volunteering, community events, sporting achievement, and artistic contributions, this year’s awards reflect the vast and varied number of contributors across our area.
“It is their efforts that add to the story of Murray River Council and make it such a great place to live.’’
The 2019 recipients will be presented with their award at the Murray River Council Australia Day ceremonies on January 26, with breakfasts to be held in Echuca-Moama, Barham, Mathoura, Wakool, Koraleigh, Tooleybuc and Moulamein.
The seven MRC breakfasts will form part of more than 780 local community celebrations to be held on the day across the nation.
“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate all the valuable and passionate community members we have in our council than joining together at our Australia Day breakfasts,’’ Cr Bilkey said.
“I urge all of our community to get out and about on January 26th to celebrate our country and have a great day of fun with family and friends.’’
