President Neil Goudie said the driving course out at the DSCC is huge for the club.
‘‘The facilities are looking really good out at the club,’’ he said.
‘‘The track was reformed and is much more defined now.
‘‘It hasn’t had an upgrade for many years so it was definitely due for it.’’
The track will be tested this weekend with two days of racing action at the DSCC.
The DSCC will host a Junior Khanacross and round four of the Autocross Series tomorrow before hosting round four of the NGK Victorian Motorkhana Championship on Sunday.
The Motorkhana will see drivers from across Victoria compete in a set of maneuvering tests, kicking off at 10am.
The Junior Khanacross day will start at 10am tomorrow, with round four of the DSCC Autocross Series starting at about 1pm.
Spectators are welcome and the canteen will be open with hot food ready to go.
Goudie said while the racers will directly benefit from the new track, the upgrade will also benefit other locals.
‘‘The upgrade allows us to have improved help for the Deniliquin High School Driver Education Program,’’ he said.
‘‘We’ve helped with the practical side of driving out at DSCC for a few years now but the upgrades will be of great benefit to the Year 10 students who participate.
‘‘This wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Grant Frazer who organised the majority of the upgrade.’’
