Tennis registration approaching fast

By Deniliquin Pastoral Times

The Deniliquin Lawn Tennis Club’s summer competitions are fast approaching, with registrations now being taken.

The season will start with the first round of the Wednesday Twilight Competition on February 6.

The twilight comp will last for eight weeks, ending on April 3, with play starting at 6pm each Wednesday night.

The DLTC will also run its Saturday Afternoon Competition at 2pm each week, starting back up on February 16.

All players who register will be accommodated in a team.

Those interested in playing but not available for the full season are encouraged to register as reserves.

New players who didn’t compete in the pre-Christmas competition will need to pay club membership fees to participate.

Players are reminded that you must be a member to use the courts throughout the week on non-competition days.

There are also competition fees as well as weekly court and ball fees for all players.

Registration forms are available from Intersport Bennett’s in Cressy St.

All entries must be in before 1pm on Saturday, January 26 in order for teams to be made, captains elected and to organise the first round.

Any new players who have not played in the competition and want to be involved will need to go through a grading process.

You can organise grading with Lourene Liebenberg, by calling or texting 0428281060 as soon as possible.
