Enjoy a night out for a good cause this Saturday when The Timbercutter restaurant in Mathoura hosts a cocktail party to raise funds for Daniher’s Drive.
The night has been organised by Fight MND Mathoura Car’s campaign to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease.
Event organiser Zowie Crump said it promises to be a great night for an even greater cause.
‘‘We felt it would be a good way to get some support for Daniher’s Drive and also a great opportunity for some to see The Timbercutter,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s a black tie event but we’re not being too strict on dress code so those who feel more comfortable in doing so can dress in smart casual.
‘‘We’ll have live entertainment from acoustic duo Matty & Jamie with finger foods available for guests.
‘‘Mack and Mills from Barham will style the room.
‘‘It’s going to be a really good night so hopefully we can have plenty of support.’’
Fight MND Mathoura Car driver Allan Watson will drive his Holden HQ as part of Daniher’s Drive for a third year in a row, starting on Thursday, October 11.
Daniher’s Drive is a four-day trip organised by former Essendon footballer Neale Daniher to raise awareness and much needed funds to fight MND, particularly since his own diagnosis four years ago.
This year’s convoy will depart from Government House, Melbourne and the drive will take in parts of Central Victoria, the South East of South Australia and the magnificent Bellarine Peninsula over four days of fun and fundraising.
The group will stop throughout the journey for some community events in various towns and will have overnight stops in Horsham, Mt Gambier and Geelong.
A bus will run from Deniliquin and Echuca for those needing to travel for the event.
Tickets for the cocktail party are $60 per person or $75 for those travelling by bus, with drinks at bar prices.
