It was an ecstatic Gail Law who now has her name on the Judy Guilfoyle Cup following her convincing win in the 30-plus handicap section.
Off her 42-handicap, Gail amassed 42 points to win by five shots. “I was so happy. I’ve never won anything at golf!” she told The Free Press. “And we won the Small Teams event.”
The score of 108 points by Gail, Marg Monks and Rita Taylor clearly won the inaugural Judy Guilfoyle Club Team salver plate trophy. Furthermore, Marg’s tee shot on the 8th was nearest the pin out of all 41 players.
Corowa’s head professional Rob Rowe said it was exciting for the ladies who can compete in these events and win with golf’s perfect system.
“It’s the reason the handicap system was introduced – to give everyone a chance,” he said. “Gail Law couldn’t have been happier with her win. Well done to all three players.”
