What a difference a week makes.
The Felines under 16 girls came out of the clubrooms a completely different team and came out victorious against Wodonga Raiders.
There were some outstanding individual performances out on the field but the best part of the game was the amazing display of great unselfish play.
In the mid field, Mietta Habets, Yasmine Budic and Caitlin Somerville continually linked up, ran hard and drove the ball forward many times.
Emily Keys continued to lead the team and the backline with some ferocious tackling and drive off the half back line.
A feature of the day with Emily streaming through the midfield, taking two bounces and kicking the ball long into the forward line.
Up forward, Sophie Nicholson bustled and competed all match and Makenzie Lewis was forever dangerous around goals, bagging a neat 9.
Coach Brad Nicholson was particularly pleased with the improvement of the first year players and their contribution to the game.
“It’s always good to get the first win of the season under the belt, but I was particularly pleased with how the whole team played and played for each other.
“We are in a position now where we can look forward to each game to test ourselves and improve individually and as a team”.
Best – Mackenzie Lewis, Yasmine Budic, Mietta Habets, Emily Keys, Sophie Nicholson, Caitlin Somerville.
Goals – Mackenzie Lewis 9, Sophie Nicholson 3, Breanna Wojtowyez 2.

It was a tough day at the office for the Felines Women, with only 11 players available.
The Felines thank the Raiders ladies who came over to play for Murray.
All these girls played their hearts out for us so many thanks to them all.
The players as always played with spirit and determination but were out gunned by a bigger stronger and more experienced opposition.
Best wishes to Skye who copped a heavy knock and was stretchered off in the 3rd term, she was feeling a bit worse for wear on the weekend and will need to have 3-4 weeks off.
She was playing a brilliant game before being injured so the club will miss her greatly in the coming weeks.
Best players were Britt Kungl, Skye, Lillian Walton, Carlie Smith, Emily Gardner and Danielle Dalrymple.
Awards- Pickers Cafe- Britt, Zest Studio – Lillian, Silver Key Cafe- Emily.
The Murray Felines take on the Alpine Lions at the John Foord Oval on Sunday.
