Geotagging your holiday snaps of wildlife while on safari could assist in their conservation, according to international and Australian researchers.

The team scanned through 25000 pictures from 26 tour groups while keeping an eye out for the population densities of the top five predator species (lions, leopards, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, and wild dogs).
The team was then able to spot specific markings and spots on the animals, which gave them a good means of tracking their movement and health.
The team said its study added to the growing body of evidence of the power of citizen science for conservation.
