Enrolments close 8pm local time, Thursday, April 18.
Failure to vote risks running foul of Australia’s electoral laws and may result in an offence under section 245 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act and attract a $20 fine.
Eligible voters can enrol or update their enrolment at aec.gov.au/enrol
Enrolment can also be done by picking up a physical form from any Australia Post or AEC office.
Early voting for the federal election starts on Monday, April 29.
The AEC is yet to release the location of early voting centres, but says the locations will be available shortly.
