After last year providing growth and development for the club’s youth, the Saints have now had a shake-up heading into this season.
With premiership player coach Pip O’Donoghue shifting her attention to B-grade this season, Grace Warnock has returned to the club after a year off to claim the A-grade coaching position.
And after the Saints recording just two wins last year, Warnock is hopeful the crop of local talent returning to the club will be enough to get Benalla back into the swing of things.
While Warnock will return to the court, she will also be joined by local Kate Symes.
Sisters Chloe and Bridget Hill are also set to be a force for the Saints’ defence, with Chloe taking out the club’s best-and-fairest last year and Bridget returning to the club after playing for Tongala in Murray Football Netball League.
Benalla has also had the exit of Kelsey Rigg and Meg Morrison at the close of the season.
‘‘We’re very excited for this year, we have got a really good group of local girls and a lot of talent coming back into the club that have had a couple of seasons away,’’ Warnock said.
‘‘Our team is quite different from last year, we have a few new players to freshen us up which is exciting.
‘‘We’ll have a very different show compared to last year for the other clubs to see.
‘‘Like every team, we would like to make finals, so we’ll be trying to set our sights on making some sort of final and then go from there.’’
