‘‘Our latest home will provide private rooms ranging from 21 to 33.7sqm, including en-suite, all with direct courtyard access for 120 residents,’’ Royal Freemasons trustee Bill Hayes said.
‘‘It will cater for both couples and single people, and has a dedicated memory support unit to help meet the specialised needs of residents with dementia.
‘‘Comfort, technology and mobility are key features throughout.’’
Royal Freemasons Benalla offers state-of-the-art amenities, such as split-heating and cooling systems in each room and around the site.
They also include attractive room furnishings that support an ageing-in-place care model with fixtures such as fully adjustable beds with pressure mattresses, lifting and supportive mobility devices, and lockable bedside cabinets.
Other features include wi-fi and Smart-TV, free Foxtel in selected lounge areas, an on-site kitchen and commercial laundry, a hairdressing salon, a nurse on-call service and a medical clinic where residents’ chosen doctors can visit.
It also features a children’s playground, a wheelchair accessible 10-seater bus and CCTV security, all set in beautiful landscaped grounds.
‘‘We’ve designed the setting to draw residents to a central dining area, which is typical of a family home, where they can choose to eat on their own or in the company of others,’’ chief operating officer Danielle Carey-Munro said.
‘‘There are spacious lounges in each wing, and tea and coffee making areas for residents and their families.
‘‘A central café is also available for residents, families and the local community.
‘‘The home will employ approximately 160 people. They are all properly briefed to deliver premium quality services to residents.
‘‘Our elders deserve to live in a secure, dignified and rewarding environment — it’s what makes us different — we strive to meet and exceed individual needs, with respect, care and honesty.’’
With this new development, Royal Freemasons will operate almost 2000 aged-care beds across 16 sites in Victoria.
In addition, they already offer independent and assisted living and home-care services throughout regional Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne, supporting about 400 residents and more than 550 who receive in-home care services to live at home for as long as possible.
