Senior Sergeant Michael Carroll, Senior Constable Michelle Neil, First Constable Mitchell Gallop and Constable Samantha Davidson made their way to the facility for a stress-free morning visit.
The event was a good chance for the residents to get to know the people looking out for them.
“We wanted to go to Glanville just to introduce ourselves and let people know that we provide a service to everyone in the community,” Senior Sergeant Mick Carroll said.
“Senior Constable Neil came up with the idea and the staff and volunteers were very accommodating, which of course we appreciate."
Although the first time holding the meet-up at the aged care facility, events such as these held around the community give the public the chance to voice their concerns, or just have a chat.
“It’s important to have these events so that people have the opportunity to meet their local police and raise any issues that may be of concern to them or just get the chance to ask their police questions,” Snr. Sgt. Carroll said.
“Quite often, people don’t want to come into the police station so if we get out to these types of events, people get the chance to ask questions or raise concerns.”
But it seemed Glanville residents felt they had been kept safe in their home.
“The people we met at the facility did not raise any concerns they had, they were pretty happy to have a chat and a cup of coffee.”
