Mayor Danny Claridge said the EOI process was part of a comprehensive review by the council on the future delivery of aged and disability services in response to the National Aged Care reforms, which includes the introduction of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and new competitive service contracts for the delivery of Aged Care Support Services.
“Aged and disability services are critically important within our community,” Cr Claridge said.
“This review is to ensure that these services continue to be delivered to a high standard and in a sustainable way.

Responses to the expression of interest will be received between January 28 and February 26.
An information session for potential providers is being held on February 7.
Based on responses to the expression of interest and potential providers’ ability to meet key selection criteria, the council will decide in May if it continues to provide these services or if it recommends to the federal and state governments that an alternative provider be contracted.
