Shepparton truck run for fire donations

By John Lewis

A Shepparton woman and her truckie partner have been busy filling a truck with donations for the residents of fire-ravaged Corryong early this week.

Robyn Campbell thanked Ang and Albie from Gillieston Fresh Produce for the donation of the truck to be driven to Corryong by her partner Brad Mildren on Tuesday.

Ms Campbell appealed for donations of bedding such as pillows blankets sheets, towels, toiletries, food, gift vouchers, petrol vouchers, bottles or slabs of water, nappies or formula, baby bottles and wipes.

She said no more clothes were needed as storage was now a problem.

In a Facebook post, Ms Campbell said: "Please dig deep as many people are in desperate need right now . . . all is appreciated.”

She said Mr Mildren had family in the Corryong area.

Ms Campbell said her phone had been running hot yesterday with calls offering donations. She asked that people offer donations through her Facebook site Robyn Campbell Helping Hand.
