Three youths arrested after spate of car thefts

Three youths have been arrested and are helping police with inquiries following a spate of motor vehicle thefts across Shepparton in the past two days.

First Constable Matt Clowes from the Shepparton Criminal Investigation Unit said two vehicles were stolen, one on Wednesday night, a second on Thursday night, from separate residential addresses.

The vehicle stolen on Thursday was found by police yesterday morning in Lenne St, Mooroopna.

‘‘Two vehicles have been located as a result of police investigations,’’ he said.

‘‘Three offenders were arrested and inquiries are pending in regards to the matter.’’

Following the thefts, Const Clowes reminded community members to always lock their vehicles and to keep belongings safe.
