Victoria Police has released the following statement:
Police are at the scene of a crash involving a truck which rolled on the Hume Freeway near Seymour.
Police and emergency services were called to the crash, which is north of Seymour, just before 2pm today.
The truck was coming off the Goulburn Highway onto the southbound lanes of the Hume Freeway when it rolled down a bank onto the northbound lanes of the Hume Freeway.
The 50-year-old driver, from Wollert, was trapped inside the truck but has since been freed and airlifted to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The truck is still blocking two northbound lanes on the Hume Freeway, and is also entangled in the cable barrier.
Heavy haulage is working to move the truck to relieve tension in the cables so VicRoads can clear the lanes. This is expected to take several hours, and northbound traffic on the freeway is being diverted to the Goulburn Valley Highway.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision or any driver who may have dash cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or they can file a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
