Four ambitious concepts for a future Maude St Mall are now open for public comment after Greater Shepparton City councillors this week voted to release them.
The four concepts each cost between $15million and $18million to make a reality and propose different mixes of pedestrian use and reintroduced traffic to the Shepparton mall.
One of the designs suggests redeveloping the mall as a pedestrian space, another suggests redeveloping it with two-way traffic, and the final two options propose one-way traffic.
While Mayor Kim O’Keeffe declared a conflict of interest, the seven remaining councillors in attendance unanimously voted to release the designs.
Consultation, which opened yesterday, asks residents to describe what they like or dislike about each of the options.
‘‘The feedback will be collated and presented to councillors to assist them in determining the next steps for the Maude Street Mall,’’ a council statement said.
Comment will be received until June 30. Visit www.greatershepparton.com.au to view designs and submit feedback.
