Centre manager Jenny Creighton presented the $170 to PALS’ Jenny Green last Wednesday, following the fundraiser outside Woolworths last month.
‘‘We decided instead of keeping the money for ourselves, we would donate the money to PALS,’’ Ms Creighton said.
‘‘It was a good opportunity to show our community spirit.’’
Ms Green was delighted to receive the donation, which would probably be re-invested into the community in the long-term, she said.
‘‘They have done an exceptional job, it’s fantastic,’’ Ms Green said.
‘‘The money will go towards our seedlings program, where our participants will grow them, nurture them and use them in our cooking programs — from start to finish.
‘‘Eventually we will do a bake off which we will get to sell back into the community.
‘‘It gives our participants quality things to do, the ability to feel independent and involved.’’
