LOCALS dug deep for this year’s Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal.
Kyabram and district raised a grand total of $5121.25 thanks to the work of some committed volunteer groups.
“We’re grateful for the donations given and for those who collected for our appeal,” Kyabram Salvation Army Captain Gail Roberts said.
Community groups made up the bulk of the collectors; at Stanhope, under the leadership of Christine Dicketts, there were 24 volunteers, Cath Pell rallied the Kyabram Scouts and had 13 while at Tongala under the leadership of Barb Dureau, the Junior Girl Guides had 14.
Over all of the appeal there were 67 volunteers.
“The final amount raised was a great effort considering the number of volunteers we had and the vastness of the area,” Capt. Roberts said.
