Saturday’s golf was the qualifying round for the Ledger Fourball. Winners were Les Cairns and Daryl Quinn with a plus 11 score. Runners-up were Dave Dunster and B. Dosser with plus nine.

The Ledger semi-final will be contested on Saturday, April 28, with L. Cairnes and D. Quinn playing against B. Convery and P. Chaszzcziwski.

In the other semi, D. Dunster and B. Dosser will play T. Hocking and W. Hocking. The Ledger final will be played on Sunday, April 29.

Last Wednesday recorded a good field of 75 players entering a stableford event.

A-grade winner was Trevor Squires with a score of 40 points. Runner-up on countback was Michael O’Brien with 39.

B-grade was closely contested with Garry Henry winning on countback from Michael Levy with 40 points.

In C-grade Trevor Banfield was the successful player with 40, placing Graham Ellis second with 39.

Coming up at the club, Saturday will have a charity fundraiser for Beyond Blue. It will be an individual stableford, choose any partner. The cost is $5.

Anzac Day will have a shotgun start, assembling at 11.15am for a 12pm start for a stableford team event of four players — best two scores per hole.

Women’s golf

The Alma McDonald Memorial Event, a 4BBB aggregate stableford, was played on Thursday, and was won by Liz Tallis and Cheryl Garratt with 77 points.

Runners-up were Lauri Morgan and Beth Dobson with 75 points on a countback.

Ball competition: M. Felmingham, and R. Watkins 75, J. Baker and J. Martin 68, M. Brown and L. Symes 70. J. O’Brien and C. Ogden 67c/b.

Nearest the pins: 3rd N. Cavedon, 8th L. Wrest, 12th J. Rubira, 13th J. O’Brien, 14th R. Watkins.

A stableford round was played on Saturday, with division one going to Nell Cavedon with 35 points. Division two’s winner was Anne Brown with 42 points.
