Shepparton East Football Netball Club made the announcement on its Facebook page last week, locking away the experienced talent for another season.
Hueston, 39, has recommitted to the Kyabram District League outfit after he joined as a player mid-season last year from Shepparton United.
The premiership player and coach at Echuca United missed out on coaching this year following the cancellation of the KDL season due to COVID-19.
Shepparton East president Mark Frost said the club was thrilled to lock in Hueston this early as it begins preparations for next year.
“It's great to have Duane recommit this early, we are really rapt to have him on board,” Frost said.
“It's hard with no footy this year, but the club was really impressed with everything he has done so far.
“And we also have Adam Johnson going around again as reserves coach.
“It's great to have them both re-sign, we are looking forward to a big 2021 season.”
The Eagles were preparing to climb up the ladder before the coronavirus pandemic hit.
Jamie Spencer and Brandon Corish joined a host of former players to return to the club and were mixing well with the talented youth that emerged last year under Nick Brown's coaching tenure.
Youngsters Aidan Lloyd and Darby Innes-Irons headlined the up-and-coming stars at Central Park, who Hueston would look to continue to develop Frost said.
“Developing those younger players is a big thing that Huey has focused on,” Frost said.
“He has been a great communicator with the group and he's worked closely with those guys.
“And hopefully those older guys we welcomed back to the club stick around too, we'll sit down with them later in the year.
“They looked in good nick over pre-season and we are just giving them some time off now.”
● In other coaching announcements, Picola District Football Netball League club Mathoura has announced the reappointment of Jarrod Thomas as netball co-ordinator for next year.
‘‘The committee asked me if I would be interested in taking on the role again and I didn’t hesitate because I didn’t really have the opportunity to get started,’’ Thomas told the Riverine Herald.
‘‘I was able to do some work in pre-season, but I wasn’t able to get the full grasp of the role before the season was cancelled.
‘‘I was really enjoying the role and I’m looking forward to continuing it.’’
