The Goulburn Valley Stars have made the call to opt out of playing this year even if the Football Integration Development Association season is to go ahead.

Still awaiting that call to be made, the Stars announced on Facebook last week they had reached the "very difficult" decision to not take part, citing a lack of support to maintain the requirements to keep their members safe.
“Over the last week the members of the GV Stars have attended meetings with FIDA and have made the very difficult decision to not participate in the 2020 season,” the statement read.
“We are living in very unprecedented times with local businesses and whole communities suffering through what can only be described as the biggest crisis of our generation.
“The possible return to FIDA football has not been confirmed as yet, although, with the very little support team that the Stars have we will just not have the support power to be able to correctly enforce the full requirements needed to keep everyone safe. Our main focus is the health and well-being of the players and the families, so the decision has not been made lightly."
Before COVID-19, the Stars were scheduled to contest five round-robin days for a total of 20 matches this season, competing with Wodonga, Wangaratta, Bendigo and Echuca-Moama in the FIDA northern conference.
