Rich River claimed another GM1 triumph at the weekend, defeating fourth-placed Shepparton Bulls to close the gap between the outfits to less than a win.
The Rebels gave up just one set on their home turf, compiling 9-75 to 1-47 in the round 14 contest.
Josh Bavich, Deagan Tomkins, Andrew and Isabella Crossman and Leanne More were all in brilliant form for the hosts, with Jarrod Bingham and Eliza Long combining for an 8-6 mixed pairs rubber win for the Bulls in their only set success.
Dominant victories were the flavour of the day across the competition, with Numurkah Warriors and Shepparton Lakers winning their respective matches by large margins.
The Warriors racked up 8-74 against Shepparton Hornets’ 2-36, with the Lakers also putting 8-74 on the board against the 2-47 Echuca-Rochester could manage.
● Shepparton Saints had a shut-out victory in GM2 action, defeating Kialla Park 11-80 to 0-22.
Jai Harrington, Tom Ferguson, Andrea Muskee, June Simpson, Will Rhode and Paula Ryan were in top form for the Saints.
Other winners across the grade included Nathalia, Cobram Crocs, Shepparton Lions and Shepparton Pelicans.
● In GM3 Open competition Kyabram Kamikaze and Dhurringile snared all the sets on offer in their respective fixtures.
Kyabram Redbacks had a tighter win against Tatura in a 6-58 to 3-43 result, as did Tongala (6-65) against Numurkah Ravens (3-45).
Nathalia, Tatura Chargers and Numurkah Penguins notched triumphs in GM3 East action, while in the GM3 West ranks it was Lockington-Bamawm United, Tatura Toranas and Rochester tasting success.
LBU's win was massive, cracking the ton via the performances of Jeremy Mundie, Stanley Brentnall, Daryl Squires, Grant Humbert, Narelle Bacon, Faye Bail, Katie Condliffe and Melissa Haines in the 13-100 to 0-30 result against Tongala.
