The Golfers defeated Euroa 16-120 to 2-88 in round 14 division one action to put top spot beyond doubt with only one match remaining before finals.
John Gribble's rink completed a 34-19 win to lead the way for the home side, with Golf coach Brad Orr (30-17) and David Daws (31-23) also lighting up the rinks.
For the Magpies Tony Kingma claimed two points in a 29-25 result, but it was not enough to keep his side in the finals race.
Euroa has dropped to seventh on the table, 20 points behind fourth-placed Kyabram with only a maximum of 18 points up for grabs next week.
● The door was left slightly ajar for one outfit not currently in the top four though as Kyabram dropped a rink to Nagambie.
The Power won 16-102 to 2-86, putting themselves out of reach of Hill Top and Euroa.
A margin of 17 points separates Kyabram and fifth-placed Stanhope, meaning a rink win is all the former would need to secure against the Golfers this weekend to be assured of knockout action.
Greg Shilling, Rob George and Glenn Fields all steered their rinks to success at the weekend, with Will Smith taking two points for the Lakers.
● It was Stanhope's superb performance against the Hillbillies on Saturday that kept it in the running for a post-season berth.
A 16-105 to 2-71 triumph was enough to send Hill Top crashing down the table and lift itself into fifth for Stanhope.
Shane Walsh (32-14), Hayden Crilly (27-12) and Brad Robinson (22-17) all claimed rink wins as Jeff McNaughton (28-24) found two points for the Hillbillies.
● Shepparton Park has locked up a double chance and thrown away the key after defeating East Shepparton under lights on its new undercover green.
The visitors found rink triumphs through Paul Nichols (28-13), Peter Matthews (36-21) and Denis Smyth (28-21) in the 16-117 to 2-81 win.
Geoff Franze took out a 26-25 victory for East to give it two points from the clash, with the side now certain to play in an elimination final in the first of the knockout rounds.
