The nation's most storied footballing affair entered its fledgling phase yesterday, with the fate of Bendigo Amateur Soccer League powers Shepparton South and Tatura revealed in Football Victoria’s Facebook’s livestream.
South’s first foray in the competition since 2017 sees the side matched up against recently promoted State League Five outfit, Mt Martha.
Deciding to roll the dice in search of some cup magic, the Southerners will hit the road on February 15 for a taste of competitive preseason action at Mace Oval.
Meanwhile Tatura will also head south to face Old Melburnians in the opening round, another side set to make the step-up to State League Five in 2020 after finishing second in Metropolitan League One.
An FFA Cup regular, last year Tatura was barrelled out by Bundoora United and will surely be searching to go deep into the competition to best prepare for the looming BASL season.
The Goulburn Valley Suns will also be vying for FFA Cup success but will learn of its opponent at a later date, with the National Premier League sides injected into the draw in the coming rounds.
