Numurkah recorded a comfortable 137-run win against Euroa in round three of the Cricket Shepparton A-grade season.
On their home deck at the Numurkah Showgrounds, the Blues outclassed the Magpies in every aspect of the game.
Led by Dylan Grandell (63) and Josh Smith (54), the Blues posted a commanding 6-233 from 45 overs.
In reply, Euroa could only manage 96, as Tim Braybon (4-17) and Matthew Cline (3-25) ran rampant.
For Euroa, Sham Dadallage (26) and Mahesh Priyadarshana (2-26) were the two standout performers in what was a tough day at the office.
Blues coach Liam Gledhill was happy following his side's third straight win to start the season.
“It was a very comprehensive win from the boys,” he said.
“We seem to be improving each week and to have three wins is very pleasing.
“The way we were able to start with the bat and then dismiss Euroa for under 100 was great.
“But we know we still have plenty of room to improve.”
Looking at Numurkah's opening batsmen, it is hard to believe there could be any improvement left in what has been three incredible performances.
The past three opening partnerships have been 172, 158 and 125, with Grandell amassing a remarkable 228 runs at an average of 114.
“That's our third straight opening partnership of 100 runs, which is terrific,” Gledhill said.
“It's such an important aspect of the game and it's really enjoyable when you see the openers do well.
“Dylan is batting really well and he's had a super start to the season and Josh (Smith) has been hitting them nicely alongside him.”
THE GAME
Numurkah 6-233 (Dylan Grandell 63, Josh Smith 54, Liam Gledhill 43, Mahesh Priyadarshana 2-26) defeated Euroa 96 (Sham Dadallage 26, Tim Braybon 4-17, Matthew Cline 3-25)
STAR PERFORMER
Dylan Grandell (Numurkah): For the second straight week it was a hard to split Grandell and Braybon as the star performers. The Blues’ opener gets the chocolates again for the way he has been able to set up another innings. With an average of 114 after three innings, if Grandell keeps this up he's looking at a few awards in the post-season.
