St Joseph’s Primary School students recently travelled to St Mary’s Primary School in Mooroopna for the Sandhurst Goulburn Valley Grade 6 Leadership Day.
The students listened to a variety of speakers throughout the day, including refugee, rapper and 2016 Young Victorian of the Year Fablice Manirakiza.
Chloe McCardle, the greatest ultra-marathon swimmer in history, also spoke to the students, as did the 2018 college captains from Notre Dame College, St Mary’s of the Angels and St Augustine’s.
Catholic Education Sandhurst director Paul Desmond briefly addressed the students about the different meanings and ways of displaying leadership.
Father Rob Galea, priest and author of Breakthrough, entertained the students with stories and songs.
All the speakers were inspirational to listen to and gave the students many valuable lessons about leadership and showing persistence no matter how challenging life may be at different stages.
