A man has been arrested for allegedly ramming a police car in Benalla on Saturday night, while officers were attending another call.
Police were called to a home in Faithful St about 7pm, due to reports of family violence.
Police allege a man arrived at the property and became argumentative with police before getting into his car.
He allegedly crashed into the unoccupied divisional van and fled the scene before officers could detain him.
There were no reported injuries. The divisional van was not driveable, but was not considered a write-off.
The man was on the run from police until Sunday afternoon when he surrendered himself to Benalla Police Station.
Police confirmed the man was granted bail and was set to appear at Benalla Magistrates’ Court on February 27.
