Nagambie PS Book Week

Colourful characters abounded at Nagambie Primary School’s Book Week celebrations recently.

Modern and old favourite book characters, ranging from Alice in Wonderland to Willy Wonka, were brought to life at the school’s Book Week parade.

Congratulations must go to the parents and grandparents who had gone to so much trouble to help the school children create their fantasy characters. The imagination ran wild watching all the colourful costumes.

There were armed superheroes, pirates, fairytale costumes, Dr Seuss characters, princesses, pandas, angels, demons, Transformers, Lego men and a Mad Hatter, while television and movie characters also featured in the school pavilion.

The children paraded their costumes in front of teachers and families and were judged for best dressed in each of the grades.

The teachers also got into the fun of the day and dressed in animal costumes to join in the Book Week celebration and acted out an adapted version of The Jungle Book.
