On Wednesday, 18 players lined up for croquet.
There were two three-game winners. Andy Davis won the day with 27 hoops and John James was close behind with 26.
Six players had 20 and over despite losing one game — John Tainsh had 24 hoops, Colin Campbell 22, Doreen Peterson and Judy Barry 21, and Jill Tainsh and Theo Walle each scored 20 hoops.
Theo Walle also won the shot of the day. He had a great shot from the boundary to get rid of the opponent’s ball near the hoop and with a perfect in-off scored the hoop.
There were six successful jump shots. Brad Fawns and John James had two and Theo Walle and Mary James had one each. Allan Tonta and Brad Fawns both scored a very handy hoop-in-one.
On Wednesday, April 12, 19 players took advantage of the lovely autumn morning to play croquet.
There were five three game winners for the day. Allan Tonta won the day with 25 hoops.
John James had 24, Heather Douglas and Darren McLoughlin each had 25 and Jill Tainsh 21 hoops.
Three players had good scores despite losing one game — Colin Campbell had 22, Mary James 21 and Andy David 20 hoops.
John James had three successful jump shots. Heather Douglas and Megan Tonta both ran a handy hoop-in-one.
Andy Davis won shot of the day. His opponent’s ball was sitting right in front of the hoop and Andy’s shot from the previous hoop not only hit their shot away but with a great in-off went through to win the hoop.
Croquet members are reminded that the AGM will be held this Sunday at 12.30pm in the clubhouse.
