MARGARET Sims won the Stableford round played at Heathcote Golf Club on Wednesday.
Six ladies took part with Sims winning with 39 points. Daphne Hall was the runner-up on 30. The nearest the pin on the 8th was won by June Roberts and Hall took out the second shot on the 18th.
While the stableford round was in progress, Helen Carlin and Cathy Shaddock played their round of the singles knockout. Helen was successful winning 4-up with three to go — congratulations Helen!
Three ladies went to Axedale on Wednesday and played in that club’s Autumn Tournament.
The stableford round involved three players forming a team with the best two scores being recorded.
Amanda Long, Dawn Hudson and Dot Trott finished with a total of 78 points, however due to the card not being completed correctly the team was disqualified.
Thursday’s stroke round had 24 players including four visitors from Neangar Park.
The division one winner was Brice Pianta 78-10-68, while the division two winner Paul Wintle scored 100-28-72.
Ball competition winners were: Phil Coleman 73 nett; Alan Healy 73 nett and Mitchell Hogg also 73 nett. Nearest the pin and Superpin on the 18th were won by Son Quach.
Par on the 18th went to John Dobie and a birdie ball to Alan Healy on the 8th.
Saturday saw a stableford aggregate pairs played for both men and ladies.
The ladies pair of Carol Stuart and Dot McGillivray were successful with a score of 71 points.
Carol scored a birdie on the par three second hole and Dawn Hudson took out the nearest the pin on the 8th.
The men fielded 23 players. The winners were Adrian King and Gerard Ellis with a score of 78 points.
The runners-up were Brian Davis and Daniel Pianta, finishing with 73 on a countback from Bill Ring and David Clouston, who also finished on 73.
Nearest the pin winners were: Bill Ring (13th); Phil Coleman (16th); A grade Daniel Pianta (18th), B grade Adrian King (18th) and C grade Rod Williams (18th) including the Superpin. Birdie ball on the 2nd went to: Adrian King, Daniel Pianta and Larry Maxwell.
Best individual Stableford score was won by Adrian King with 41 points. And the encouragement award went to Greg Long.
Today: Ladies qualifying round of 4 ball knockout and RWH 4 ball qualifying round.
Tomorrow: Open Stableford.
Saturday, March 25: Men’s qualifying round of singles knockout. It would be appreciated if all male members could make themselves available to play.
Saturday March 25: Ladies Stableford.
