Carriage ride for Deni bride

Ever since Melanie Dodd was a child, she dreamed of arriving to her wedding in a horse and carriage.

That dream came true when Melanie married Daniel Kennedy in Deniliquin on Saturday afternoon.

The bride arrived to her Waring Gardens wedding ceremony in a beautiful white carriage that looked like it had been plucked straight from the pages of Cinderella.

‘‘I’ve always loved the idea of my wedding being like a fairy tale,’’ Melanie said.

‘‘I saw an image of a horse and carriage at a bridal expo, so I did a bit of research and found the company — Cobb and Co Carriages in Melbourne.’’

Melanie shared the carriage with her father Glenn, as they made their way from west Deniliquin to the gardens.

‘‘We definitely turned a lot of heads on our way to the ceremony,’’ Melanie said.

‘‘As we were going down Hardinge Street, cars were driving slowly and even pulling over to take a look.’’

Melanie and Daniel were also taken to their reception at The Crossing Cafe in the carriage.
