TWO excited brothers got one of the best wake-up calls on Tuesday when three of their beloved Bombers football players arrived at their Rochester home.
Michael Hartley, Orazio Fantasia and Paddy Ambrose surprised the two supporters when they stopped by the James residence for some breakfast and a kick out the back.
Nominated by Rochester Auskick co-ordinator Craig Williams, the brothers had no clue of the surprise, especially Kale who answered the door.
‘‘They told him that they were in the neighbourhood and would like to have breakfast with him,’’ Mr Williams said.
‘‘ He took them in and they sat at the table for breakfast where the players asked Kale and Walt what they liked about footy, who their favourite players were and chatted about the game on the weekend in Bendigo which the boys went down and watched.
‘‘Following brekky he took the players outside for a kick of the footy and photo time.
‘‘I nominated them to AFL Goulburn Murray (who organised the visit) as they had already signed up for the season and were bombers fans.’’
The players also called by the Rochester and Elmore District Health Service aged care facility and Rochester Secondary College.
All had a great day — especially the ones who donned the red and black.
AFL Goulburn Murray hosted the team in Kyabram and Rochester as a conclusion to their JLT Community Series clash against Geelong in Bendigo.
