Lions District Governor Peter Poels officially opened the Corowa Lions Community Barbeque.

The Corowa Lions Community Barbeque project was officially opened by Lions District Governor Peter Poels in front of a crowd of more than 60 people recently.
Official guests included Governor Peter and representatives from Federation Council Chris Gillard and Gail Law, as well as guests Mursaleen Shah, Darren Harvey and Jake Boyle.
Peter Poels thanked Federation Council for their help in completing the community project.
“Special thanks must also go to Jamie Webb from Focus Engineering for his planning and construction of the barbeque canopy,” he said.
Corowa Lions Secretary Graham Withers told the Free Press the Lions were happy to see their 12 month project finished for all to enjoy.
“It’s a fantastic area that we hope the entire community will be able to use for years to come,” he said.
“Quite a lot of people use the park, so now that we have upgraded the area we hope it will be even more enjoyable and user friendly.”
The official opening was followed by a barbeque for all to enjoy.
The community barbeque area is located on the corner of Edward Street and Federation Avenue, Corowa.
