Could be a month, could be a year
This unseen foe is everywhere
It’s on the streets, it’s in the air
It reaches out with unseen hand
Affecting all throughout the land
‘Bring out your dead’ they once did say
This killer will not go away
Some of us are healthy still
While white-clad men treat the ill
Business houses closing down
Empty streets are in the town
Coronavirus stops the world
Economy has crashed and burned
So many deaths, they happen fast
How long will this monster last?
So far no cure, that we know
And so it spreads and keeps to grow
Do not travel, stay at home
Isolate and be alone
Surely soon it will be past
But many folk have breathed their last.
The future now remains unclear
We must go on, and keep good cheer
Looking forward hopefully
A safer world for you and me.
