Maybe the suitcases aren't yet packed, but a travel destination is surely being considered by those who attended the annual travel expo at Shepparton's Goulburn Valley Hotel last weekend.
With about 1000 people at the event, expo co-ordinator Vivienne Erikson said it was a raging success for everyone involved.
Representatives from the major airlines, tour companies and travel options, along with the local travel agencies, held stands at the expo, and information was available on overseas tours, motor homes and car hire options.
``There was something whether you want to travel in Australia or anywhere in the world,'' Vivienne said.
``Most popular this year was Europe, America, Vietnam, New Zealand and cruising.
``Cruises are a big growth area because of the ease of it all.''
Organisers were thrilled with the event.
``We received great feedback from the public,'' Vivienne said.
``The whole event was run very smoothly and everyone enjoyed themselves.''
The annual event has become so popular that this year there was a line-up before the doors opened at 10 am.
``We couldn't believe it, really, with the line-up before the doors opened,'' Vivienne said.
``It didn't stop all day either, with the customers two or three deep all day.''
Vivienne said many of the travel exhibitors had already confirmed their appearance at next year's expo.
``It was such a good event that everyone said they will be back next year,'' she said.
``The exhibitors were running out of brochures, it was that popular.''
Goulburn Valley residents can still take advantage of expo specials if they book in the next week, with Vivienne urging anyone who was interested to speak to their travel agent.
``There will be specials running for this week and some for another week,'' she said.
``If they were not at the expo they can still book and get the specials.''
