The 2010 Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge opens in February to all Victorian students in Prep to Year 10, including students who learn at home.
The event aims to promote a love of reading and is not a competition, but a challenge to each student.
The 2010 Challenge will run until Tuesday, August 31.
Last year, Shepparton East Primary School's children proved themselves among the busiest of bookworms, with 128 students successfully completed the entire challenge.
In the challenge, students in years 3 to 10 are required to read 15 books or more while for those in Prep, years 1 and 2, the challenge is to read or ``experience'' 30 books by the same time.
The 2010 Challenge Booklist will be published in a special lift-out by The Age on Sunday, February 14.
