Goulburn-Murray Water announced further water allocations for northern Victoria irrigators on January 4.
The Bullarook System now receives 11 per cent of its allocation, an increase of five per cent, while the Goulburn System has increased one per cent to 50 per cent allocation.
The Murray System remains unchanged at 60 per cent, while the Broken, Campaspe and Loddon systems remain at zero.
G-MW water resource manager Graeme Hannan said it was pleasing to be able to further increase allocations at this time.
``The increases announced today have come from small contributions from a range of sources up to the end of December,'' he said.
``For the Goulburn System, storage losses were lower than the provision for December (but) on the Murray System inflows were in line with earlier forecasts for December and an increased provision for river losses has been made consistent with the expected higher regulated flows.''
Mr Hannan said the Bullarook System had performed better then expected.
``The Bullarook System has benefited from lower than planned storage releases which have translated into a small allocation increase,'' he said.
``However, the benefit from the rainfall on January 1 and 2 is still to be fully assessed and any improvements for water allocations will be confirmed next week.''
The seasonal allocations for northern Victoria water systems from Monday, January 4 are:
High reliability water share
Murray 60 per cent
Broken nil
Goulburn 50 per cent
Campaspe nil
Loddon nil
Bullarook 11 per cent
The next allocation announcement will be issued on Friday, January 15.
