Four people were arrested on Tuesday following an alleged burglary at the Shepparton Art Museum construction site which saw between $40 000 and $50 000 worth of tools stolen.
Shepparton Police executed three search warrants on Tuesday relating to the alleged burglary which occurred at the construction site last month.
Shepparton Police Detective Senior Constable Lance Wiltshire confirmed three men and one woman were arrested by police at three separate addresses in Shepparton.
Sen Const Wiltshire said a large amount of tools and other items belonging to the museum were stolen from the Victoria Park Lake construction site between December 14 and 16.
A 26-year-old male was arrested in relation to outstanding matters and bailed from the Shepparton Police Station on Tuesday to appear at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
A 32-year-old male was charged in relation to handling stolen goods and dishonesty offences and was bailed from the Shepparton Police Station on Tuesday to appear at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
A 25-year-old female was released pending summons in relation to drug offences.
A 22-year-old male was charged in relation to the burglary and dishonesty offences and was bailed from the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court yesterday to appear at a later date.
Sen Const Wiltshire confirmed further inquiries were ongoing in relation to the matter.
