VCAL students spent five months cleaning, shopping and plastering the building on site that was previously used as storage.
“There were old motors, bikes, farming equipment and all sorts of things thrown in there, so we all worked together, and the students should be really proud of their achievements because it’s come up really well,” teacher Stui Shaw said.
He said the tasks were diverse, including computer work, physical work and bargaining.
“We had to go shopping for paint and all the equipment we needed, pick up all the furniture, it was just a great, fun activity to do that now they can enjoy,” Mr Shaw said.
Monsignor Peter Jeffrey officially opened the room with a blessing of the cross and first break of the pool table.
