Numurkah locals were in for a double celebration at the weekend with the town hosting the 30th Australasian Go Kart Titles and Goulburn Valley Kart Club’s 60th anniversary.
More than 160 drivers took part in the two-day championship which featured 13 classes of racing.
Club treasurer Brent Opie said entries had increased from 115 last year.
“We’ve just resurfaced the top corner which has brought a lot of the drivers, which is good to see,” Mr Opie said.
He said the weekend was family-friendly and included camping and socialising while off the track.
“Some people race every second weekend all over Victoria, so camping keeps the costs down and people can catch up with friends they haven’t seen since the last race meeting,” Mr Opie said.
Saturday's qualifiers included Herman Van Ree in Victorian Combined Masters; Ethan Warren, Victorian Combined Light; Mathew Basso, Cadet 9; Liam Ford, Tag Light; Peter Cocca, Tag 125 Masters; and Jarred Farrell, KA4 Junior Light.
